Shah Rukh Khan plans to buy football club

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is a co-owner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), on Monday said he plans to buy a football side in the upcoming football league, promoted by All India Football Federation (AIFF) and IMG-Reliance.

Khan said he earlier was interested in buying stake in the I-League club Dempo.

"Earlier, I spoke to Dempo. Now I have heard that a new franchise-based league system is coming up. I shall wait till it comes up. As soon as it comes, I will be the first guy to buy a football club," Khan told NDTV.

"I will love to have the Kolkata football club," he said.

Khan's KKR won the fifth edition of the cash rich IPL in 2012.
